The Network for Public Health Law – Eastern Region would like to invite you to join us for a one-day policy briefing on cannabis policy in the Eastern Region. The briefing will begin with a Cannabis 101 overview and continue with expert panel speakers addressing science and policy considerations as they relate to marijuana policy changes. Discussions will include (1) what we know and don’t know about the health impacts of cannabis use, (2) overlaps between cannabis and other substance use policy, including tobacco, (3) an overview of current cannabis policy in Maryland and anticipated changes, (4) and lessons learned from marijuana policy changes in other states from across the country.
The focus on this meeting will be audience interaction with both panel presenters and attendees. There will be ample time for Q&A with all presenters as well as networking breaks, round table discussions and lunch. Speakers include representatives from the CDC, NIDA, ASTHO, Tobacco Control/Prevention, and the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission.
