SSW Web Developer Miesha Williams has earned a Grow with Google Developer Scholarship to the Front-End Web Developer Nanodegree program. Only 10% from the 15,000 who apply are accepted into the program.
According to Google, "her progress in the course and dedication in the community really stood out. In the program Williams will build off her earlier coursework, receive support from a personal mentor in the classroom, submit projects for official review and feedback, and earn a Udacity Nanodegree credential upon successful completion of all of her projects."
Williams has also earned a Google Travel Grant to attend the State of The Black Tech Ecosystem event in Chicago this June.
The Anita B Organization has given Williams a grant to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration in Houston in September. AnitaB.org produces the Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC) in collaboration with the Association for Computing Machinery. GHC is the world's largest gathering of women technologists with an expected attendance of 20,000 for 2018.
