Current SSW students, UMB technology services (CITS) is transitioning existing SSW student accounts from Google (GAE, Google Accounts for Education) to Microsoft (Microsoft Office 365) starting the week of April 9th. This will NOT impact your current UMB email account or other components of Google Accounts for Education. You will receive an email from IT Help Desk (CITS Center for Information Technology) stating you can now use your campus credentials (UMid) to log into portal.office.com to access Office 365. You will have access to all parts of Office 365 except email (which will remain a Google email account). So you will have access to the online versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Skype for Business, and other productivity software. You will also have access to Office 365 ProPlus which allows you to download and install the desktop version of the software for free (up to 5 copies). The software and access remains active while your a student and current plans are to extend that access for up to 12 months post graduation. Office 365 can be accessed at portal.office.com.
