
Reading Partners empowers volunteers, like you, to become leaders in the Baltimore community by helping struggling readers succeed. Each week, you will meet one-on-one with your student to help him or her develop strong literacy skills and discover a passion for reading. We’ll provide a proven, structured curriculum, in-person training, and ongoing support to help you and your student thrive.

Reading Partners is a national nonprofit that pairs community volunteers and elementary school students who are reading below grade level in Baltimore city. This proven early literacy organization provides volunteer-led, individualized reading support to students in under-resourced public elementary schools. It is critical that Reading Partners students are enrolled in the program before the holiday season in order to maximize the number of tutoring sessions they receive and put them on the best path to proficiency. We will serve 900 students at 18 elementary schools Baltimore City this school year, and we need your help!
