Social workers in the workplace: Come learn about the employee assistance subspecialization - only o

Did you know that UMSSW has the only dedicated graduate social work program offering students an opportunity to focus their studies in the exciting and fast-growing field of Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)?

Have you ever considered the workplace as a setting reach out to and engage employees and their family members in supportive counseling on issues related to workplace behavioral health? Do you have an interest in mental health, management and organizational consultation, substance use, crisis intervention, and stress management with a focus on prevention and early intervention? Do you like variety in your day and want a career that offers something unique and different every day you go to work? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, please attend one of the upcoming EAP information sessions so you can learn first-hand, from the chair of the program, Dr. Jodi Jacobson Frey, how the EAP subspecialization can provide you with additional skills within the broader mental health specialization that will set you apart from other entry-level social workers. Please attend an open information session with Dr. Frey and a current behavioral health / EAP student on Monday, November 13 from 12:30-1:30 in room 4E14. For more information about the EAP field and/or subspecialization, please contact Dr. Frey at jfrey@ssw.umaryland.edu. All students planning to subspecialize in EAP will need to meet individually with Dr. Frey prior to submitting their advanced field applications.
