Clinical Instructor, Susan C. Westgate, presented to an audience of tenured social workers and local community partners this past weekend at SUNY Binghamton on the subject of Health Disparities. The goal of this training was to educate attendees about the fiscal and social costs of disparate care and how to avoid reproducing patterns of inequity within the context of the larger health care system. This presentation was the product of an multi-month partnership between the Westgate and faculty members of the SUNY-based School of Social Work.
