GAIT Fall Interdisciplinary Training Opportunities, Students free


Unique learning experience for health care students throughout the University System of Maryland. One or Two day programs Hosted by Geriatric Facilities Attended by USM students from different disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively in geriatric health facilities with the GAIT coordinators through the Area Health Education Centers. Student expenses are covered. An opportunity to:

  • Enhance your Interdisciplinary Health Care Team Skills training

  • Learn about Interdisciplinary Geriatric Assessment at a rural geriatric care site

  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Team Assessment of program participants at care sites

  • Discuss your Team Interdisciplinary Assessment with the care site staff

Programs offered in Western Maryland:

Oct. 20 SUPPORTING STAYING AT HOME: Adult Medical Day Services Diakon Adult Medical Day Services Hagerstown, MD 8am – 4pm Morning refreshments and onsite Lunch is included (previous night HOTEL option available if you are traveling a distance)

Oct. 26 MAINTAINING INDEPENDENCE: Healthy Older Adults Meeting Challenges of Aging @ the Homewood at Williamsport, MD 8am–4pm Morning refreshments and onsite Lunch is included (Wednesday night HOTEL option available if you are traveling a distance)
