Lehning Earns Maryland DHR Grant to Help Enhance Adult Protective Services

Assistant Professor Amanda Lehning received over $153,000 in funding from the Maryland Department of Human Services to enhance adult protective services (APS). The purpose of the project is to develop a standardized assessment tool for Maryland APS to assess risk and safety at an initial investigation of elder abuse, monitor progress over time, and guide decisions regarding appropriate interventions.

Over two years, Dr. Lehning will collaborate with the Maryland Office of Adult Services to pilot, refine, and ultimately implement statewide the new assessment tool.
