SWCOS Receives $30,000 from the Joseph and Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds

The School of Social Work's Social Work Community Outreach Service (SWCOS) has received $30,000 from the Joseph and Harvey Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds for SWCOS' Meyerhoff Neighborhood Fellows program.

Neighborhood Fellows, a signature program of SWCOS, places student interns in opportunity neighborhoods to strengthen and build the capacity of non-profit community-based organizations—through strategies such as board development, marketing, and community outreach—and to help rebuild the social fabric of communities through activities such as coordinating block projects, building community gardens, strengthening the housing market, reducing the risk of predatory lending, and reaching out to new immigrants to include them in home ownership opportunities.
