
The Protecting Victims of Sex Trafficking Act of 2017 was signed by Governor Hogan on April 18, 2017. Among those present at the Bill Signing was Dr. Nadine Finigan-Carr, Research Assistant Professor in the Ruth Young Center and PI of the Child Sex Trafficking Victims Initiative (CSTVI) funded by the Children's Bureau. The CSTVI worked as a part of the Governor's Safe Harbor Work Group to provide data and assist in writing the new act. After the Bill Signing, Dr Finigan-Carr was interviewed by WJZ-TV about the importance of this new law in protecting victims of child sex trafficking in our state.
