April 11, 2017

Could you use Lunch and a $10 Amazon Gift Card?

Are you about to Graduate this May?

Please sign up to be part of a Focus Group In the UM School of Social Work (3rd Floor West Conference Room)

Wednesday, April 26 from Noon to 1 PM

PURPOSE OF THE FOCUS GROUP: To better understand the experiences and the job market for new graduates of social work programs and, in time, to better understand the entire social work workforce, the Council for Social Work Education (CSWE) and other leading social work organizations, have engaged the George Washington University Health Workforce Institute (GW-HWI) to conduct a survey of individuals who complete a social work degree in 2017. The lack of on-going data on the supply, demand, distribution and use of social workers presents an enormous challenge to national organizations working to advance the profession.

This is why the University of Maryland School of Social Work is assisting with this project. The focus group will help with survey development. The focus groups will last no more than one hour. Your participation in the focus group is entirely voluntary. What you say in the focus group will be kept confidential and reports and papers based on analysis of this information will only use aggregated data. In accordance with professional research standards, we are required to provide information for your review before you decide to participate. When you attend the focus group you will be provided a two page information sheet giving you more information about what it entails. If you agree to go ahead with the focus group having read the information sheet, your consent to participate will be assumed.

ABOUT YOU: You will be graduating with a degree in Social Work in 2017. You are interested in improving the profession. You could use a $10 Amazon gift card. You eat lunch!

YOUR INCENTIVE: Everyone completing the focus group will be awarded a $10 Amazon gift card and get lunch.
