Communities United is a grassroots, membership organization of low to moderate income individuals and families in Maryland. Our mission is to organize our communities to build power to win transformative change for social, racial, economic, and environmental justice. In partnership with labor unions, community organizations, faith-based organizations, and many others, we seek to build a movement that deeply transforms the challenges facing Maryland's low and moderate income communities. Come to our volunteer information session where members will talk about their work and how you can help organize neighborhoods and become part of the solution to generations of inequity in Baltimore. The information session will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 7th. It will be held at our office located on the 2nd floor of 2221 Maryland Ave, Baltimore, MD 21218 (ring the bell at the stairs when you arrive). Food will be provided. Please RSVP to flannery@communitiesunite.org or 410-336-5493. Some of the campaigns and issues Communities United is working on now with which you could get involved include ex-offender rights, community schools that meet the needs of low-income kids, livable housing conditions in public housing buildings, $15 minimum wage, ending violence and healing trauma, and promoting harm-reduction practices to end the drug war. communitiesunite.org/
