The lecture will explore the use of mindfulness-based approaches in school settings. Specifically, the lecture will provide: 1) an overview of the rationale for school-based mindfulness programs, and the common aims of these programs; 2) a description of several types of mindfulness programs being implemented in Baltimore city public schools; 3) a discussion of research approaches for studying school-based mindfulness programs; and 4) common implementation challenges associated with school-based mindfulness programs.
