Time to THRIVE: National Conference to Promote Safety, Inclusion and Well-being for LGBTQ Youth

The HRC Foundation's Time to THRIVE Conference (April 28-30 in Washington, DC) provides a “one-stop-shop” opportunity to build awareness and cultural competency, learn current and emerging best practices and gather resources from leading experts and national organizations in the field. This opportunity is for youth-serving professionals: K-12 educators, professional counselors, social workers, pediatricians, and more. Time to THRIVE is co-presented by the National Education Association and the American Counseling Association. Special guests announced include Katie Couric, Charles Blow, Jazz Jenning and more. It is anticipated that attendees will be able to earn complimentary CEUs through the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC), and the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselors (CRC). For an additional fee, we also anticipate that attendees will be able to earn one graduate or undergraduate credit. More information on CEUs may be found at the website below.

On the last day of the conference (Sunday, April 30, 2017) the opportunity for approximately 100 youth (ages 13-22) who are part of local GSAs and other advocacy organizations will be joining to attend youth-focused workshops and the closing plenary. If you know of local youth in that age range, please share with them the youth application can be found at www.TImetoThrive.org.

Students completing field in a setting serving youth can share this information with youth and other professionals at their placement. Full time college and university students have a discounted fee.
