2017-2018 Public Health Social Work Leadership Scholarship Announcement

Friday February 3, 2017! ** The University of Maryland School of Social Work is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications for the 2017-2018 Leadership Program in Public Health Social Work. This unique training program is offered at the School of Social Work within the specialty of Health. Each year, six students are selected to participate in a year-long training experience to enhance their expertise in public health social work, leadership and academic excellence. The program provides six scholarships of $10,000 to be used towards tuition costs. Students interested in being considered for this scholarship must be enrolled full-time within the school of social work and have declared Health as their specialty. Students (MACO or Clinical) entering the School within their advanced year (as of Fall 2017) are encouraged to apply. However, students enrolled within the School's joint MSW/MPH program will be given special consideration in the application and selection process. Students selected for this program will participate in an exciting leadership development program, implement a community service project, construct a mini-semester interdisciplinary course and participate in select public health social work advanced field placements.
