Reflections on Our Times and a Life of Social Action with Eddie Conway, Former Leader in the Baltimo

Students, staff, faculty, alumni, and community members are invited to join a conversation with Marshall "Eddie" Conway, former minister of defense of the Baltimore Black Panthers. Tuesday, December 6, from 6pm-8pm SSW Auditorium (525 West Redwood) Conway will talk about his life engaged in struggle for liberation and justice, and offer reflections on the current political moment and lessons that we might draw from the political actions and analysis of the Black Panther Movement. Following the talk and discussion, he will be available to sign (and sell) copies of his recent book, Marshall Law: The Life and Times of a Baltimore Black Panther. For those who are interested in learning more about the Black Panthers, Stanley Nelson's recent documentary Black Panthers: Vanguards of the Revolution provides a good introduction. The video is below. For more information, contact Adam Schneider (aschneider@ssw.umaryland.edu or 410-215-8319)
