Associate Professor Corey Shdaimah gave an invitational presentation with Magistrate Althea Stewart-Jones at the Foster Care Court Improvement Program’s Research and Development Conference on November 16 at the Judiciary College of Maryland Education and Conference Center. They described their FCCIP-funded study exploring Prince George’s County’s Emancipation Checklist that is now being used with foster youth age 18-21 with an Alternative Planned Permanent Living Arrangement (APPLA) plan. In addition, they provide guidance on how courts and researchers can collaborate to analyze data and generate information that is useful to local courts as well as state and national stakeholders.
