This is a one-credit interdisciplinary course that will include a two-day mandatory classroom session and a related community engagement project to be completed later in spring 2017 semester. Students will explore the concepts of community violence and trauma, particularly in the context of Baltimore City. Students from all UMB professional schools will be eligible to register thus providing an interdisciplinary context to learn about this public health issue. (This 1-credit course may be combined with other 1-credit offerings to fulfill elective requirements for the MSW degree.) There are no prerequisites.
