Deadline for Applications for Interprofessional Social Justice Elective to Israel Extended through T

The deadline for applications for the Global Interprofessional Course in Social Justice has been extended to Tuesday September 27. The course, "Can We Promote Social Justice through Community University Partnerships?", is a partnership with Haifa University and the University of Maryland's Schools of Social Work, Law, and Nursing. Students and faculty from all schools participate. Course Overview: The course will address theoretical and practical implications of the concept "Social Justice" and its relationship with health and health equity from a global and interdisciplinary perspective. The course will engage students from both universities in current theoretical discussions and expose them to social justice-based research methodologies while looking at the social, legal, and political dimensions both at the local and the global levels. In addition, students will take part in experiential methodological workshops and participate in study tours throughout Haifa in which they will meet advocacy organization leaders and community project directors. Bi-national student teams will jointly develop projects related to social justice and health equity. Details about logistics and how to apply are attached.
