Aging Specialization Information Session, 10/5 @ 5:10-6:50, Room 3e14

Come to room 3E14 on 10/5 from 5:10-6:50 p.m. to hear about the aging specialization and the varied job opportunities and career choices in this field. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts a 19% growth in employment of health care social workers between 2014 and 2024. Likewise, the BLS predicts a 10 % growth in the need for social and community service managers. Much of this anticipated job growth is due to a growing aging population.

Gerontological social workers will be needed to help aging populations and their caregivers adjust to new treatments, medications and lifestyles, build livable communities, provide much needed social services and advocate for aging-friendly policies at local, state and federal levels.

Dr. Joan Davitt, Chair of the Aging Specialization will present and answer student questions. Come hear about exciting career opportunities to work with older adults and their families.
