UMSSW Alum Dr. Elizabeth Aparicio Discusses Mental Health and the Thomas Bloom Raskin Act With NPR

UMSSW alum Dr. Elizabeth Aparicio was interviewed to discuss Maryland’s 2-1-1 mental health crisis hotline, which is expanding its preventive approach with calls to residents who pre-register. The innovative program will allow those struggling with mental health issues to opt-in to receive calls from counselors through the state’s 2-1-1 system. The Thomas Bloom Raskin Act is named after Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin’s son.
