Updated: May 25, 2023

Assistant Professor Dr. Laurie Graham and colleagues have a new paper published in JAMA Network Open that moves forward their collective research on the total contribution of intimate partner violence to fatalities in the United States. Using 2015-2019 data from the National Violent Death Reporting System, they found that 9.5% of 178,940 intentional violent deaths had intimate partner violence circumstances. These fatalities included homicides, homicide-suicides, and suicides unconnected to homicides.
