Volunteer From Home to Support Seniors with Baltimore Neighbor Network

Baltimore Neighbors Network is looking for volunteers to work from home phoning local seniors to offer a listening ear and screen for material and mental health needs. Volunteers are receiving orientation and training in Inclusive listening from Baltimore Community Mediation Center and Pro Bono Counseling Center. The project was spearheaded by Councilmen Zeke Cohen and Kristerfer Burnett.

Lend some time to neighbors who can benefit from critical hope, comfort and solidarity in this time of isolation and uncertainty.

• Make calls to neighbors seeking support. (Volunteers use an app that masks your phone number with the BNN number.)

• Answer emails from neighbors seeking support

• Be a friendly ear and voice to someone needing some company

• Become a mental health ambassador and connect neighbors to social & emotional support resources
