2nd Annual Homelessness Summit March 20 @ the SSW

One of the Grand Challenges for Social Work identified by the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare is Ending Homelessness. The SSW Office of Field Education serves as the lead for this Grand Challenge and has convened and led a statewide Homelessness Social Work Council of leaders, service providers, researchers, and educators who have expertise addressing homelessness. A core goal of this initiative is also to prepare students to serve this population by supporting and identifying field placement opportunities for master’s level students. This is summit will be the second gathering of the council members and service providers. The format for this summit will be built around the nationally recognized expert and author, Deborah Padgett and the expertise from the panelists who serve the homeless population.
