Professor Reisch Presents Lecture on Strategies of Poverty Alleviation to Delegation from China

On Monday, September 17, Dr. Michael Reisch, Daniel Thursz Distinguished Professor of Social justice, presented a 2-part all-day lecture on strategies of poverty alleviation in the U.S. to a delegation of social welfare officials from the People's Republic of China.

His lecture discussed how poverty is defined and measured in the U.S.; the populations most affected by poverty; the causes and consequences of poverty; and which policies and programs have been more or less effective in reducing poverty. This was the third time Dr. Reisch has given a lecture on this topic to representatives from China.
